Back in stock at Lukas Wine & Spirits, Connemara Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey!
For a number of long months we have been out of the entire Connemara portfolio but now they are officially back in stock here at Lukas Wine & Spirits! Connemara is one of Ireland’s Cooley Distillery’s, most popular brands due to it being a, “peated” Irish whiskey. Here is some info to help you along;
Connemara Peated Irish Whiskey (40% ABV): Inspired by Ireland’s ancient distilling traditions, Connemara’s smooth sweet taste and complex peat flavors make it a truly unique Irish whiskey. No other Irish whiskey combines rich smoky tones with delicious fruitiness and vanilla tones whilst retaining the traditional smoothness associated with Irish whiskey.
Unlike most other Irish whiskeys, Connemara is double distilled in 2 small pot stills to ensure a whiskey full of robust flavor and character. It’s then left to mature for many years in American oak casks. Connemara’s combination of young and old whiskey allows you to experience the rich malt and fruit that combine with the underlying vanilla tones and the deep, full bodied peat.
Connemara 12 Year (40% ABV): Each year a small number of the oldest & most exceptional casks are hand-picked to create Connemara 12 Year Old Peated Single Malt. Containing some of the first distillations of Connemara, the 12 Year Old is a whiskey of great complexity and sophistication.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Expressive aroma with a vibrant presence of malt & peaty smokiness.
Taste: Smooth, melodious taste with a superb mix of fruit & peat.
Finish: Strong spice bite in the finish that dominates but doesn’t overwhelm the delicious creamy peatiness.
Connemara Cask Strength (57.9% )BRAND NEW TO OUR MARKET: To experience whiskey in its most natural from, it can be tasted at the natural strength it comes out of the cask. Being bottled at massive 57.9% ABV, undiluted and with non-chill-filtered and no coloring, it still retains an astonishing smoothness.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Strong & concentrated smoky peatiness.
Taste: Strong aggressive start with an enormous peat surge that combines with a complex combination of fruit, peppers and chocolate.
Finish: Astonishingly long and glorious finish with peat clinging to every corner of your mouth.
