Last week we announced the details on how we will be handling the 2015 edition of the Pappy van Winkle/Antique Collection/Rare Whiskey Lottery. If you missed the post, please refer that page under “Spirits” at the stop of our website.
Since then, we have received numerous phone calls and emails with questions that we either missed or did not address, so I wanted to put out this post to hopefully answer some of the questions:
Q. What exactly will happen on the morning of September 12th?
On Saturday morning September 12th, we will open at 9:00 a.m. for business and that is when we will begin the process for this year’s lottery. You will be able to enter the store, and if you are indeed here to sign up, will be asked by a cashier to present your driver’s license for verification and receive your lottery sign up form. After you have received your sign up form, the line will start down aisle 13 heading into the Tasting Room. When our associates in the Tasting Room are ready, you will be able to head in and fill out the form where you will will rank the Whiskeys in the order you would like to have a chance at purchasing.
Q. How early should I arrive to secure a spot?
We will allow people to start entering the building at 9:00 a.m., so you may show up as early as you like to wait. However, we ask that you be respectful and act courteous when waiting outside Lukas.
Q. Can I have someone wait in line for me after I sign up?
Q. What about the people who attended your reservation events and received the extra entries? How will they be handled?
Spirits Manager Adam England will be contacting people who received an extra entry via phone before the lottery takes place. If you do not receive a phone call from Adam before the lottery and you have an extra entry ticket, please contact him beginning Tuesday, September 8th.
Please do not hesitate to call us with any other questions or concerns you might have at 636-227-4543.
