Tullamore Dew Phoenix Limited Edition Irish Whiskey

New Release to Lukas Liquor Superstore

Tullamore Dew Phoenix Limited Edition Irish Whiskey

Tullamore Dew Phoenix Limited Edition Irish Whiskey

In 1785, Tullamore witnessed a devastating hot-air accident. The resulting blaze nearly destroyed the town but immeasurably strengthened her people. Driven by their positive spirit, the town’s renaissance in the ensuing decades saw the establishment of the Tullamore Distillery in 1829. This special limited edition, triple distilled Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey, is a blend of all three types of Irish whiskeys; golden grain, malt and pure pot still whiskey. It is characterized by its high content pot still whiskey finished in old olorosso sherry casks and comes to you at a 55% ABV.

The Phoenix, which appears on the Tullamore coat of arms, is a symbol of how the Tullamore townsfolk courageously rebuilt their home town after the hot air balloon fire of 1785.

Lukas Liquor Superstore has acquired a few more cases of the extremely rare and limited edition release of the Glenmorangie Ealanta Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Private Edition 4th Release! This is the last chance for any collector of this amazing whisky from Glenmorangie before the 5th Release arrives later this year or early 2014.

Glenmorangie Ealanta

Gaelic for: skilled and ingenious, is a rare limited edition, aged in the finest virgin oak casks, made from slow-growth American white oak, sourced from the northern slopes of the Missouri Mark Twain forest in the USA. The porous oak wood, air-dried  for over two years, but in this instance never seasoned with another whisky, allows this precious spirit to extract maximum flavors as nature intended, producing a whisky of incredible taste and smoothness.

An Exceptional Whisky

During the 1990’s, Glenmorangie’s Head of Distillation and Whisky Creation, Dr. Bill Lumsden travelled over 5,000 miles to the Ozark Mountains in Missouri, USA. His quest: to hand-select the finest oak wood for casks that would produce a very special whisky. On the northern slopes of Missouri’s Mark Twain National Forest, named after ‘The Father of American Literature’, he discovered a number of superb slow-growth American white oak trees.

Glenmorangie Ealanta Highland SMSW

Father of Literature

Mark Twain travelled widely and was particularly fond of visiting the United Kingdom. In 1873, he travelled on a speaking and writing tour, and whilst staying at the luxurious Langham Hotel in London, he discovered Scotch. He tried it in his favorite cocktail, a pre-cursor to the Old Fashioned.

Twain’s most popular works are set in among his native Missouri, also home to the American white oak, the hero of Glenmorangie’s last Private Edition, the Ealanta.

Ardbeg “Ardbog” Islay SMSW

Surprise Last Chance Release at Lukas Liquor Superstore,

Ardbeg “Ardbog” Islay SMSW (52.1 % ABV)

Ardbog Islay SMSW

Lukas Liquor Superstore has acquired more of this extremely rare one time release from Ardbeg and are offering you one last chance at purchasing an ultimate collectable whisky.

Ardbeg is renowned as the peatiest, smokiest and most complex of all Islay’s whiskies.

In Ardbog we celebrate our peaty roots in the marshy wetlands of Islay. Ardbeg’s smoky sweetness has been intriguingly interwoven with salty savory whiskies which have slumbered undisturbed in rare ex-Manzanilla sherry casks, all for at least ten long years.

 Ardbog

The History of Ardbeg and Peat

Islay is an antique land, where Celtic monks found refuge from raiding Norsemen and early distillers smuggled their illicit ‘aqua vitea’ at Ardbeg’s rocky cove. Where the Lords of the Isles ruled from Loch Finlaggen between 1130 and 1493, the clan kings whose bloodline continued through the MacDougalls of Ardbeg, the founders of our great and noble whisky.

Malted barley is harvested and dried in smoke from burning peat turfs carved from this ancient land, locking the peating levels into the whisky. The peat of Islay entombs the deep and primeval  spirit of the place. So to fully understand the story of Ardbeg, you have to dig a little deeper.

Stand on Islay peat bogs and under your feet lie thousands of years of history. The peat that is the essence of Ardbeg embodies a heady mix of life and death and everything in between.

For to dig peat is to travel back in time. Down and down. To when clans fought and ruled. And Viking treasures were lost and trodden into the yielding ground; until you reach the remains of vegetation, last walked upon before the first century.

The Creation of Ardbog

Our forefathers and their toiled to ‘win’ the peat to dry the barley, to make our whisky. Ardbog is born of peat and the deep, marshy bogs which give such a compelling flavors to all things Islay. Ardbeg’s classic smoky, but sweet, whisky has been intriguingly interwoven with salty, savory whiskies, rare drams which have slumbered undisturbed for at least ten longs years in rare Manzanilla sherry casks. The end result is a whisky of great depth and maturity, but one which also displays Ardbeg’s captivating complexity.

Islay’s peaty earth has yielded much; Mesolithic flints, arrowheads from 4000-2500 BC, bronze axes, gold brooches and the greatest prize, a leaf-shaped bronze sword, the same deep ochre color of Ardbog itself. This weapon was said to have been thrust into its earthly resting place 3000 years before, in honor of the man who wielded it.

Surely hidden still, are the hordes of historical treasures. But it is the spirits we release from the peat that will gift us the essence of true and ancient Islay – in every sip of Ardbog. And that is the greatest treasure of all.

Lukas Liquor Superstore has only SIX of these extremely rare bottles left for sale and it is a first come, first serve chance with NO LIMIT on how may you may purchase. No phone calls, fax or email reservations will be accepted.

Cheers,

-Adam M England

Parkers Heritage Promise of Hope 7th Release – SOLD OUT

SOLD OUT

New Limited Edition Release to Lukas Liquor Superstore

Parkers Heritage 7th Release

“Promise of Hope”

Aged 10 Years

Single Barrel KSBW

Parkers Heritage Promise of Hope

Heaven Hill Master Distiller Emeritus Parker Beam, who has recently been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (also called ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease), and for whom the acclaimed series is named, has selected special barrels of Bourbon for this year’s edition that mirror his own personal preference for age, proof and warehouse location. Called the “Promise of Hope” bottling, this seventh in the acclaimed series will feature a remarkable cause-related component—for each bottle of the “Promise of Hope” edition sold, Heaven Hill will contribute $20 to the Parker Beam Promise of Hope Fund, a fund established through the ALS Association in honor of the legendary 6th Generation Master Distiller (www.alsa.org/ParkerBeamPromiseofHope). Heaven Hill is estimating the overall contribution to the Promise of Hope Fund will be in excess of $250,000.

In addition to being the first cause-related bottling in the Parker’s Heritage Collection series, the Promise of Hope bottling will mark the first time that a single barrel American Whiskey has been offered in the collection. Parker Beam, a past recipient of Whisky Advocate’s Lifetime Achievement Award and a charter member of the Bourbon Hall of Fame who is in his 53rd year at Heaven Hill, painstakingly sampled and selected Bourbon barrels that met his own personal “wish list” criteria. From among Heaven Hill’s nearly one million barrels in storage, Parker selected approximately 100 barrels of ten-year-old rye-based Bourbon from one of his favorite warehouses, the tiered 80-year-old Rickhouse EE in Deatsville, where they sat in high storage for 40 seasons. Each of the chosen barrels was dumped and bottled, with no chill-filtering, in 750ml bottles at Parker’s preferred bottling proof of 96° (48% alcohol/volume). The 7th Edition Parker’s Heritage Collection Promise of Hope will be available on select retail shelves in a 750ml bottle.

This year’s release of Parker’s Heritage Collection promises to be a worthy successor to the previous six releases, which, having won multiple awards from Whisky Advocate Magazine (formerly Malt Advocate Magazine), Whisky Magazine and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, stand as some of the most critically lauded American Whiskeys in recent memory. Past bottlings have won awards ranging from “Best North American Whiskey” to “American Whiskey of the Year” to “Best of Show, Brown Spirits.”

Packaged in the same upscale 750ml bottle as the previous six editions, the Parker’s Heritage Collection Promise of Hope bottling is part of a number of cause-related efforts Heaven Hill and Parker Beam have recently taken on to help in the fight against ALS, a neurological disease which affects approximately 30,000 Americans at any time. Also part of this effort is the recently announced Master Distillers’ Unity, a special crystal two bottle set of Bourbon from all the major Kentucky heritage distilleries blended together which will be offered at the Bonham’s Whisky, Cognac and Rare Spirits auction in New York City on October 13th. All proceeds from the auction of this one-time bottling will also go toward the Promise of Hope Fund.

“I, my wife Linda, my son Craig and all my family are honored and enthusiastic about our efforts toward helping those affected by ALS”, stated Parker Beam, “and the new Promise of Hope edition of my Parker’s Heritage Collection represents a great way for Bourbon fans and even novices to enjoy a great single barrel Bourbon while helping make a real difference in the fight against ALS. I enjoyed developing the profile and selecting these barrels that represent ‘my favorite things’ in a Bourbon, and I feel sure that anyone who purchases a bottle will get an outstanding single barrel Bourbon and the satisfaction of knowing they are helping with this worthy cause.”

The 2013 Parker’s Heritage Collection Promise of Hope is a very limited release, as all of the previous six editions have been, but Heaven Hill will be releasing more cases than in the past to maximize fund raising. And as always, once these are shipped from Bardstown, no more will be available.

There is a generous supply of the newly released Parkers Heritage 7th Release Promise of Hope in stock but it will not last long as the whisk(e)y collectors will swoop in to grab their bottles.

This strictly an in store only release with a limit of one bottle per person, per day. Lukas Liquor Superstore will NOT accept phone, email or fax reservations of any sorts, this a first come, first serve release.

Old Forester 12 Year Birthday Bourbon KSBW

Barreled 2001 / Limited Edition Bottling 2013

Old Forester Birthday Bourbon Ltd Bottling 2013

America’s First Bottled Bourbon Honors Founder with Commemorative Small Batch Bourbon

For more than 140 years, Old Forester has been crafted using the time-honored methods established by George Garvin Brown, the founder of Louisville-based Brown-Forman and Old Forester, America’s First Bottled Bourbon. To commemorate Mr. Brown’s September 2nd birthday, Old Forester annually releases an expression of its highly-acclaimed bourbon and this year marks the 12th limited edition release.

Selected from a single day of production and handcrafted by Master Distiller Chris Morris, this limited edition small batch bourbon is vintage-dated – offering a one-of-a-kind character and flavor profile that will never be replicated. Its unique decanter style glass bottle is a throwback to the late 1800’s when Old Forester was first produced. Each bottle features the founder’s signature and the dates on which the bourbon was barreled and bottled.

“This year’s batch was selected for its robust presentation of flavors which showcase vanilla bean caramelized oak paired with deep layers of warming spices and a delicate nut character,” said Morris. “A rich aroma and a long, warm finish make this yet another must-have release.”

Since its introduction in 2002, Old Forester Birthday Bourbon has received unprecedented acclaim and has collected honors from USA Today, Malt Advocate, Whisky Magazine, Spirit Journal, Ultimate Spirits Challenge, Wine Enthusiast, and Santé. A favorite among critics, Old Forester Birthday Bourbons have taken home gold from numerous tasting competitions including “BEST BOURBON, Double Gold Medal” in the 2012 San Francisco World Spirits Competition as well as “Gold” medals in the 2005, 2006 & 2007 competitions. The 2012 expression received a 95 rating and was given the “Ultimate Recommendation” in the 2013 Ultimate Spirits Challenge. The 2007 expression was also named American Whiskey of the Year at Malt Advocate WhiskyFest New York.

The Old Forester 12 Year Birthday Bourbon KSBW is a limited edition release that will not last long. Lukas Liquor Superstore will not be taking phone, email or fax reservations for this whiskey and it will be an in store, no limit purchase item.

Colonel E.H. Taylor Straight Rye Whiskey

Back In Stock At Lukas Liquor Superstore

Colonel E.H. Taylor Straight Rye Whiskey

CURRENTLY OUT-OF-STOCK

Colonel EH Taylor Straight Rye Whiskey

Return of the Rye

Straight Rye Whiskey has experienced a strong resurgence in the American whiskey landscape, yet Colonel E. H. Taylor, Jr. was making this style over 100 years ago. The latest offering from Buffalo Trace Distillery pays tribute to the former Distillery owner with a small batch, Bottled-In-Bond, 100 proof, straight rye whiskey from days long past.

An altogether different recipe and profile than Sazerac Rye, this recipe contains just rye and malted barley, no corn.  The result is an aroma full of dried fruit, black pepper, and touch of fresh dill. A small sip brings an array of flavors both sweet and savory with a terrific balance of dark spices and subtle caramel overtones. The finish is especially pleasing with an oaky dryness that lingers just long enough.

The Straight Rye Whiskey is the fifth in the line of the E. H. Taylor, Jr. collection of whiskeys. It joins the Old Fashioned Sour Mash Bourbon, Single Barrel Bourbon, Warehouse C Tornado Surviving Bourbon and Barrel Proof Bourbon that have all been released since early 2011.  Like the previous four releases, this whiskey will have very limited availability and will be packaged in a vintage label and canister reminiscent of Taylor’s bottles over one hundred years ago.

Taylor is widely considered one of the founding fathers of the bourbon industry, fighting for the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, nearly three decades after he purchased the distillery that is known today as the Buffalo Trace Distillery. During his time, Taylor implemented several innovative methods still used today by Buffalo Trace, such as climate controlled aging warehouses. In addition to his bourbon interests, Taylor had political ties. He was the great-nephew of President Zachary Taylor and elected the mayor of Frankfort, state representative to the Kentucky General Assembly and a member of the State Senate.

The Colonel E.H. Taylor Straight Rye Whiskey did not last long last year but we do have some available for the upcoming 2013 holiday season. Lukas will not take any phone or email reservations, this is strictly a first come, first serve, in-store-only offering with NO LIMIT on how much you may purchase.
