The Bitch (wine) is Back!

One of our more favorite wines, in terms of taste and label, has returned to our shelves after a very delayed absence:

The Bitch

Bitch Wine is back.  It is made using Grenache and while last time Bitch was made using Australian grapes, this time it is Spanish in origin.  However, the front and back labels remain the same.

Back Bitch

Bitch Wine makes a very funny gag gift, and the juice is actually pretty good.  Pop in a grab a bottle today.

Dogfish Head & Sierra Nevada “Life and Limb” Collaboration

Come in and Grab a bottle before it’s Gone!!!

“Life & Limb is a collaborative effort, the brainchild of Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery. Life & Limb is a 10% ABV strong, dark beer that defies style characteristics- brewed with pure maple syrup from the Calagione family farm in Massachusetts and estate barley grown on the Grossman “farm” at the brewery in Chico, CA. The beer is alive with yeast-a blend of both breweries’ house strains-bottle conditioned for added complexity and shelf life, and naturally carbonated with birch syrup fresh from Alaska.”

Buffalo Trace Summer 2011 Single Barrel Release is at Lukas!

Our Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Summer 2011 Single Barrel Releases are finally in stock!!!

Barrel 03-A-06-P-4-30-259 & Barrel 03-A-06-P-4-30-256 both arrived this morning and by far these barrels are a step above in the flavor category. Barrel #259 in my opinion was the single most delicious barrel I have ever tasted over all my years of sampling barrels.

Now with these two new barrels in stock, this means that we are within weeks of selling our 8,000th bottle of Buffalo Trace here at Lukas Wine & Spirits.

To celebrate the great occasion and achievement, we will be doing something very special for all of our die-hard Buffalo Trace customers coming up this October 2011.

Feel free to keep checking our website and emails for any future news about tastings and the October 2011 surprise or sign up for our weekly newsletter.

Again, thank you everyone for the ongoing support of Buffalo Trace and Lukas Wine & Spirits

Spirits Update 6/29/2011

New Items 6/29/11

Citadelle Reserve Gin

Matured for several months in old oak casks, Citadelle Reserve marvelously combines the freshness and complexity of Citadelle Gin with the refinement of old, cask-aged spirits. The cellar-master does not consider the gin ready for bottling until a perfect balance has been struck between freshness and cask flavors.

Beluga Vodka

A masterpiece in every way… Beluga’s composition is unique: not only is their malt alcohol of the most exquisite quality, and pearly artesian water, but also the diligent handiwork of past masters with their care for every detail. Not just a vodka, but an attitude towards life – one in which everything matters, everything has its place, and every deed has its special meaning.

Suntory Hibiki

Hibiki, meaning resonance in Japanese, speaks to the soul and emotions of the most discerning whisky lover. Hibiki resonates from nature, and all the subtleties found from the twenty four seasons of the old Japanese lunar calendar. Numerous types of pure single malt whiskies ageing in various types of casks, including Mizunara, a very rare Japanese oak, all combine to create a full orchestra of flavors and aromas.

High West Silver Whiskey

High West SILVER™; is remarkably versatile. Neat, on the rocks, in a classic cocktail, or wherever you’d use another “clear” spirit. Try an Old Fashioned-Old Fashioned, a Clementine, or a Silver Manhattan.

High West Double Rye!

Marriage of two straight rye whiskies that combines the feisty properties of a high rye 2-year-old and the saddle smooth richness of a 16-year-old. The 2-year-old has a 95% rye 5% barley malt mashbill. The older rye has a “barely legal” rye mashbill of 53% rye and 37% corn. The extra age and corn provides some extra sweetness to calm the “bite” of the younger rye for a relationship that works.

Plantation Rum

Dogfish Head/Epic Portamarillo

Dogfish Head and Epic Brewing’s collaboration, Portamarillo, has arrived! Here’s how they describe it:

“a collaboration, a Festive brew and the world’s first tree tomato beer. A sorta-Porter fermented with New Zealand-grown Tamarillos, which were smoked using wood chips from the sacred Pohutakawa tree (also known as the NZ Christmas tree).”

Four Roses Limited Edition Single Barrel

Four Roses is widely regarded as one of the best, if not the best, bourbon distillery in America. Their new 2011 release of their limited edition single barrel offering is a big, bold and utterly delicious whiskey. Fans of Wild Turkey will especially enjoy the cinnamon and spice notes evident in this bourbon,  and this may be the best Four Roses Single Barrel offering yet. With only 3600 bottles being distributed in the United States, the biggest challenge for bourbon enthusiasts could be finding and purchasing a bottle before they are all gone.
